He took on the large project himself including initial removal of kitchen, screeding, plastering, plumbing, electric’s, the complete installation of the kitchen/utility and the decorating throughout, all to an exceptional standard. From start to finish Rob he was professional and extremely hardworking and he always made sure he tidied up every night. “ We decided some time before COVID ‘19 struck that we would sell our old house and move, we found our dream home in August of ‘19 and started the long process of selling and purchasing our home. Right from the start the first and only room that was going to be given the full treatment was the kitchen. It’s important to mention this because for almost the next 8 months till we moved in (In March this year) that’s all that we have dreamed about. So you can imagine that the kitchen had a lot of thought and design.
Before COVID shut down the country we decided to use Wickes as an option and had a design consultation in store. Their process we exceedingly good and it was nice to be able to see what we were going to purchase from the start (More on this later). We had a great design and we were pleased to go forward. Always the issue was going to be who would fit the kitchen. Now as a professional salesman I knew I could get a good deal in uncertain times but I didn’t want to spend (in our minds) big money on a kitchen to be put in by any old fitter and come up with a substandard product in the end that cost to us a large amount of money. In stepped Rob who was a recommendation from my sister in law who has a connection with Robs wife business. My sister in law had seen their kitchen and commented on how good it looked and how nice the family was. So we asked Rob to come round and have a look at pricing to fit the Wickes Kitchen. From the start I could tell that this was a person that I felt we could do some business with and felt trustworthy from the start. As I said before I had beaten Wickes for a great price but after Roberts consultation and experiences with Wickes, B&Q, Howdens and Wren kitchens he recommended that we use a local business who had stock on the shelves ready to be gotten or replaced if damaged. Based on this fact we visited Neil at Howdens to see what they could do. Now this was in the middle of the lock down and the only thing we could do was look at some samples laid out on pallets in the forecourt of the trading estate! Our choices were quite limited as we knew the style and design we wanted and after sending Neil back and forth to the shelves we set upon our choice of units, worktops and back splashes. From then it was waiting for when Rob was able to start. From the off I could see that we had chosen a very professional and dedicated workman who obviously took a great deal of pride in his business and relationships with his customers. This all boils down to trust. After a few conversations with Rob over the design and some great help from Neil we had something new and better than we could have hoped for. The trust side came from not suggesting to spend more money here and there (which was my personal worry that costs would get out of control once the work had started) but as a measured thought process from the 140 odd kitchens Rob had fitted before in his career. Trust goes both ways and I would like to think as a customer we made our decisions quickly efficiently which helped speed the whole process of fitting the kitchen And made Rob’s job as easy as possible. The whole process took 3 weeks as we had a large kitchen which was a garage conversation originally. Robs first week was removing the kitchen and making good all the wiring etc and other planned works. Here it showed how good he is as the rubbish was not just pushed out the front door but neatly stacked in the drive ready for the arranged collection. Week two saw the kitchen fitted. This came together really quickly over a few days and looked finished mid week. That seemed to be the easy bit. Again all the units came pre built and arrived safe and sound (so we thought) and arrived over two lorry trips. It is a big kitchen.. in fitting the kitchen one of Robs suggestions about choosing a company who were local and had stock came true when we had an issue with the stainless steel back splash. If was only after fitting and removing the safety tape did we notice that there was a scratch on the product. A quick phone call and a replacement was ordered and on its way. This was at no cost to us but hit Robs hard worked time I think. From there on the last week was the finishing touches (As per his company name) and here is where you pay the money. We are not fastidious people and we were able to leave Rob to produce an extremely high tolerance of work that puts his Company name to shame. With every building work there is some kind of snagging or something that your not quite happy with and I can honestly say that I did not have any issues with any of the work we have had done.
I have purposely not written this recommendation for a couple of weeks as I did not want my judgement clouded by a new kitchen but I can honestly say that every day walking in here is a complete joy. This is no small part to Neil and his team at Howdens and the vast majority of course to Rob but also to us for being open to suggestions and ideas which were talked through very well in a considered nature.
I have already recommended Rob to further family members who need work done and also Howdens kitchens. We wanted a five star kitchen but on a three star budget. We were very lucky to get a Six star fitter who has produced a room that as a family I can not wait to spend more time in.

We met with several builders / fitters, but were really impressed when we met you. You spent the time talking through the plan, recommending some tweaks and changes, some of the changes were pretty major, but we were (and are) grateful for your expert advice.
You supplied us with a beautifully presented “Schedule of Works”, which was clear and easy to understand – no hidden extras, so that took the financial worry out of the build. Also the payment plan you provided was spot on – both sides of the arrangement knew exactly where they stood.
The build started, and every day you outlined the work you were going to carry out. We hit one or two problems due the “quirky” plumbing and electrics in our house, but each time you came to us with a solution, rather than a problem.
An important point to raise is that when you appoint someone to build you a kitchen, they are going to be in your house every day for a prolonged period of time, so it is vital that you get on, which we did. Due to Gail’s work, it was important that you took this into consideration when carrying out your work from a safety and safe guarding perspective, which you did, making the disruption as minimal as possible.
Finally, the finished kitchen.
We love it, the kitchen, the decorating, the flooring, the lighting and all of the appliances – superb. This is now the space we wanted, and it gives the house a new lease of life.

“Well where do I start, Rob of Finishing Touch Building Services is very professional in his work. Rob dry fitted our Wren kitchen for us with nothing being too much trouble, starting with our fit date changing 3 or 4 times! However Rob was always very accommodating.
Then during the fit our utility cupboards needed to be taken out which Rob jumped to the rescue to do this.
Then there were a couple of items short/needing replacing which I had to get sent out and again with no problem Rob came and fitted these bits and reinstated our utility cupboards at the same time. Rob’s workmanship is second to none, and one of the tidiest, cleanest trades I’ve met. It’s always nice when you don’t have to clean up after a trades person.
Wren isn’t a usual kitchen for Rob to fit but there were no complaints only smiles!

“Wendy and I had been planning for many months to have our kitchen replaced. It was tired and we had outgrown it. (Which you will no doubt see from the before and after pics ).

Rob has totally transformed my 2 bedroom flat in a very short space of time and I’m so grateful to the lady who recommended I get in touch with him.
As a single, first time homeowner and young girl, the challenge of renovating an old property was initially incredibly overwhelming and difficult. Right from the first phone call Rob was so helpful and willing to give advice before even seeing my property. He made numerous visits to the flat and made simple recommendations that no one else had made, suggesting ways of cost saving rather than going ahead with everything I had been recommended by other builders.
Rob listened to what I said I wanted and gave me guidance when I had no idea what I wanted ( which was often!) He was incredibly patient and helped me to make the right decisions. Howdens and Bath store were equally great and helped me design my perfect kitchen and bathroom.
I completely trusted Rob and let him get on with it. I couldn’t believe how quickly he modernised the flat and installed everything. He gave me regular updates and chased me when I needed to make a decision and kept me on track which I found really helpful. I had an electrician and plasterer booked in before I met Rob so he worked alongside them and briefed them fully on what needed to be done to coincide with the work he was carrying out which meant I didn’t need to worry.
Waste was quickly removed and the neighbours loved him, they commented numerous times how hardworking and courteous he was.
Rob made what was at first a very stressful experience a lot more enjoyable and I would highly recommend him!

From initial ideas and designs right through to tidying up at the end of the job, Rob is totally professional. During initial stages he takes time to explain realistically what is possible (often suggesting things we’d not remotely thought off) and makes clear all likely costs incurred for any changes or additions to the original plan. Rob’s work ethic is very strong and at the end of everyday he cleans and tidies up so things are perfectly liveable and usable. Even the sink was left until the last possible moment to minimise disruption!!
If something is not quite right he’ll re-do it until it is. With our kitchen there are one or two unknown issues which sprung up which were quickly overcome through his material skills and knowledge.
We’re thoroughly delighted with our new kitchen and would not hesitate to recommend Rob to others who need a new Kitchen or Bathroom

“Robert recently fitted a new kitchen for me. I was quite skeptical when we gave his first consultation as he had grand ideas on what my kitchen should look like as a finished product. He made recommendations which were realistically within my budget. I was also apprehensive of the sheer scale of work involved for just one person given the time frame. Communication between Robert and myself before the work actually commenced was very clear and reassuring.
Robert was extremely professional and actually went above and beyond to give me my dream kitchen. He had a huge task of ripping out the old kitchen, plastering the walls, decorating, repairing and replacing the electrical wiring and gas piping. In additional to laying new flooring his craftsmanship of fitting the kitchen surpassed all of my expectations.
He was punctual, polite and very tidy, at the end of each day, he tidied up the mess so that normal living could continue, despite having no kitchen!
The end result was spectacular and I had my dream kitchen…To demonstrate his professionalism, he contacted me after the project had completed to see if everything was ok, there were very minor issues which only could occur after trying the new working kitchen. He came back without any fuss and made a few adjustments. Nothing was too much hassle. I was working away from home for most of the time Robert was working on my kitchen and I felt extremely confident at leaving a key for Robert.
I cannot endorse Robert’s professionalism or workmanship enough. He really does deliver on his word as well as the ‘finishing touch’.

“We had bought our kitchen from Howdens in Kentish Town and then intended to employ a local fitter. Rob was recommended by Howdens at Egham and agreed to undertake the work even though he normally does supply and fit. In hindsight we should have got Rob to do this as some problems arose but Rob was able to liaise between both Howdens branches and sort them out. We were grateful as this was over and above what he would normally do.
It wasn’t just a straight job of units out and new units in as he had to re-plaster ceilings and walls before thinking about fitting the units. This was done to a high standard.
We benefited greatly from Robs experience as we had planned our kitchen but Rob was able give some valuable input towards variations. This turned out to be excellent advice and we varied our plans due to his practical advice and experience.
Overall Rob is a very experienced and considerate worker. I cannot fault his professionalism and his application to the task especially as he was suffering with flu for part of the job.

“We live in a three storey townhouse and the ground floor consisted of an integrated garage and a small kitchen at the back. We decided that we wanted to change the layout of the ground floor to reduce the garage space and turn the kitchen into a large open plan kitchen diner.
We asked Rob to come round and quote for the job which he did. One of our problems was that because it was such a drastic change in layout we were struggling to picture and decide on final plans. Rob was very helpful and gave us good advice during the planning stage.
Firstly the people we employed through Rob to carry out the significant structural changes were very good, hard working and trustworthy. They were there when they said they would be and got the work done very quickly and without mess.
Rob was employed to plaster all the walls and ceilings, put in new patio doors, electrics, plumbing and fit the kitchen. It was obvious straight away that Rob is very thorough and proud of his work, he made sure that we could live with as little inconvenience as possible and always left the house tidy.
